犬山城下町　游月庵へようこそ。

江戸時代には武家屋敷が建ち並んでいた大本町通り。
幕末から明治をへて、関東で大震災のあった大正12年（1923年）に
この建物は建てられました。
今に流れる時と共に町がその姿を変えていく中、切妻造平入のこの建物は、
長屋の一部として当時の面影を宿した姿で残り、住居として利用されていました。

縁あって令和3年に、ふるさと犬山のこの建物を譲り受けることになり、
折しも11月には、この建物が城下町の歴史的まちなみ景観の保全を目的と
した犬山市景観条例により「歴史的建築物」の指定を受けました。

もともと城下町に静かに暮らす小さな住居を建てるつもりで譲り受けましたが、 名がなくとも残す価値がある建物ならば、なるべく多くの皆様方に
あらためて古民家の良さを味わっていただけるようなものにする方が素敵
なことだなと思いなおし、地元の建築会社、造園会社の協力をいただいて
リノベーションの運びとなりました。

壊して開けてみなければわからない古民家のリノベーション工事は5か月間
にわたり、新築以上の手間と労力がかかりましたが、令和5年（2023年）
3月、築100年の節目に游月庵として生まれ変わりました。

犬山城下町としては初めてとなる古民家一棟貸の宿で
大切なパートナーとご一緒に、あるいはご家族や仲間たちとご一緒に、
城下町に暮らすようにゆったりとした時間を游月庵でお過ごしいただきたい
それが願いです。

Welcome to Yugetsuan in Inuyama Castle Town. During the Edo period, Omotocho Street was lined with samurai residences. From the end of the Edo period through the Meiji era, this building was constructed in 1923 (Taisho 12), the year of the Great Kanto Earthquake. While the town's appearance has changed over time, this gabled, flat-entrance building has remained as part of a row house, retaining its original appearance and being used as a residence. By chance, we were able to acquire this building in our hometown of Inuyama in 2021, and in November, it was designated a "historic building" under the Inuyama City Landscape Ordinance, which aims to preserve the castle town's historic streetscape. We originally acquired the property with the intention of building a small, quiet residence in the castle town, but we decided that if it was a building worth preserving even without a name, it would be wonderful to turn it into something that would allow as many people as possible to rediscover the charms of an old Japanese house, and so we began the renovation with the help of a local construction and landscaping company. The renovation work, which couldn't be determined without tearing it apart and opening it up, took five months and required more effort and time than building a new house, but in March 2023, on the 100th anniversary of its construction, it was reborn as Yugetsuan. We hope that you will enjoy Yugetsuan, the first old Japanese house to be rented as an entire inn in Inuyama Castle Town, where you can relax and enjoy the feeling of living in a castle town, whether with your significant other, family, or friends.
